Are Oilheat Systems Becoming Outdated?

What Modern Heating Oil Offers to Homeowners

When it comes to the heating systems that we have in our homes, we want something that will last a long time, is effective, and won’t cause our energy bills to skyrocket and get out of control. This holds especially true for those of us here in Eastern Pennsylvania, where we get hit with cold and sometimes long winters. For all these reasons and more, you may want to consider using heating oil from Oehlert Bros.

All About Modern Heating Oil Systems

We don’t have to tell you that there are all sorts of options when it comes to how you can heat your home. Heating oil is one of them. Even though heating oil has been used for home heating purposes for many years, it is far from outdated. In fact, heating oil has evolved significantly over the years.

The heating oil systems that are for sale today are designed and made with advanced engineering, improved efficiency, and cleaner-burning fuel options.

Today’s oil heat systems are highly efficient. They can reach efficiency ratings of 85% to over 95%. Older furnaces and boilers often operated at efficiency levels as low as 60% to 70%.

Advanced burners that optimize fuel combustion, sealed combustion chambers that reduce heat loss, electronic ignition systems that eliminate constant fuel waste, and smart thermostats that help with energy management allow modern heating oil systems to improve fuel usage and decrease heating costs. And they do this all without sacrificing comfort.

Additional Benefits of Heating Oil

The modern and technological improvements that have been made to heating oil systems are not the only advantages of using the fuel.

Heating oil is also:

• Environmentally friendly: Today’s heating oil contains low levels of sulfur, making it better for the environment than it was years ago. Oehlert Bros. carries Bioheat Plus® heating oil, which is even cleaner and more eco-friendly than your standard heating oil.
• Safe: Heating oil is not explosive in its liquid state and only ignites through the proper combustion process inside your heating equipment. Modern oil heating systems are also designed with important safety features, including controls that can shut down your furnace or boiler if a problem is detected. As with any combustion-based heating system, regular maintenance and working carbon monoxide detectors are important.
• Dependable: When you use natural gas, you become dependent upon a shared utility for heat, and if there is a problem with that utility, you are then at risk of not having heat. Heating oil gets stored on a homeowner’s individual property, which offers more energy independence.

All About Bioheat Plus Heating Oil from Oehlert Bros.

Oehlert Bros. started creating our own B20 Bioheat Plus® heating oil blend in 2007. This is a premium fuel made by blending ultra-low-sulfur heating oil with 20% refined soybean oil. It is cleaner than traditional oil, leaves fewer deposits on heat exchangers and nozzles, is sustainable, and can help extend the life of your furnace or boiler.

B20 Bioheat Plus® is compatible with standard oil heating systems. Switching over to it doesn’t require any expensive modifications or new heating equipment.
