Situated on the lovely Schuylkill River on land originally owned by Quaker merchant Isaac Norris, Norristown was named the county seat of Montgomery County in 1784. It was incorporated as a borough in 1812 and saw a significant industrial boom throughout the 1800s and early 1900s. Norristown’s industries included foundries, factories, icehouses, lumber yards and textile mills.
Famous Norristown residents include actor Peter Boyle, Baseball Hall of Famers Tommy Lasorda and Mike Piazza, cartoonist Art Spiegelman and tennis star Lisa Raymond.
“We have had Oehlert Bros. as our sole heating, air conditioning and oil delivery company for two decades. Our most recent interaction was with Tom V. as he performed our annual furnace cleaning. He was professional and thorough. We have never had a problem with Oehlert Bros. and will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.” — Gus R.
“For my annual heater tune-up, the technicians at Oehlert always do a great and professional job, but this year Rick K went above and beyond the normal job and made sure my reservoir for water condensate from the heater was thoroughly cleaned so it could continue to function and pump the water out of my house. Just a fantastic job!” — Robert H.
