What is Bioheat Plus heating oil?

This clean, green alternative to conventional No. 2 heating oil is created by blending ultra-low-sulfur heating oil with biodiesel — a renewable fuel made from fatty acids found in certain oils without needing to waste any food. Oehlert Bros. has been a leader in this environmentally friendly option by making our own Bioheat Plus heating oil blend using refined soybean oil since 2007.

What kinds of Bioheat fuel exist?

B2-B5 Bioheat fuel contains between 2% and 5% biodiesel, whereas Bioheat Plus heating oil (B5-B20) contains between 5% and 20% biodiesel. Anything over 20% is called Bioheat Super Plus® fuel.

The more we can transition to higher levels of Bioheat fuel, the faster we can help reduce our collective carbon footprint and make heating oil a carbon-neutral energy source.

We’re honored to serve as a leader in America’s clean-energy revolution and give customers the opportunity to help us reduce carbon emissions. We recently produced and delivered a Bioheat Super Plus® heating oil made of 100% biodiesel to help the Perkiomen Watershed grow plants in its greenhouse!

Why Bioheat Plus heating oil produces better air quality
